It's also used to help guide biopsies, diagnose heart conditions, and look for tumors. Ultrasound is safe, noninvasive, painless and does not use ionizing radiation. Performed by experienced and competent radiographer. Able to scan multiple organs such as breasts, heart, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, uterus, ovaries, unborn child (fetus) in pregnant patients, thyroid and parathyroid glands and scrotum (testicles)
